Peer review process
Conducting a transparent publishing policy is the most important goal of the Journal's Editorial Board, which is why we present in an accessible way a description of the publishing process in force in "Aviation and Security Problems".
The uploaded manuscript file is evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief or Deputy Editor-in-Chief under the account of its coincidence with the profile of the journal and correct preparation in accordance with the guidelines for Authors. After the initial evaluation and acceptance of the manuscript for the further editorial process, the Thematic Editor is appointed. The Thematic Editor evaluates the value of the manuscript for the development of the area of science he undertakes, as well as the timeliness and selection of the bibliography.
The Editors reserve the right to reject the manuscript if:
- It is not consistent with the profile of the journal;
- Does not meet editorial requirements;
- It has a significant amount of language errors;
- Contains a poor bibliography;
- It does not affect the development of the area of science that he undertakes.
At a later stage, the Thematic Editor appoints reviewers (more information in for reviewers). We encourage authors to provide the names and email addresses of potential reviewers, as they know best who is an expert in their field. However, the Editors retain the exclusive right to decide who reviews the manuscript. Reviewers are appointed on the basis of their knowledge in the relevant field. All manuscripts are reviewed by at least two reviewers in a double-blind review process. Reviewers have three weeks to return the review. Reviewers submit feedback in the form of a review report. Reviewers can: accept the manuscript, accept the manuscript with corrections, reject the manuscript. After obtaining two positive reviews, the manuscript is sent to the language editorial office. In the case of one negative review, the thematic editor can decline the submission or is sent it to the super reviewer. Authors are asked, if necessary, to amend their articles accordingly before making a final decision. The decision to accept the manuscript is made by the thematic editor. Accepted articles are sent to the language and graphic editor. After corrections have been made by the Language Editor, the Authors are asked to accept the final version of the manuscript. After acceptance, the manuscript is sent for production, the decision to publish the article is made by the Editor-in-Chief or his deputy. At each stage of the editorial process, the Authors are informed about the current state of work on the manuscript. The whole process should not be longer than two months.
